About the Program
The Massey University Albany campus is part of North Shore city. Within walking distance of the campus is a large shopping center where students can shop and browse, and just down the road is the Albany village with its traditional shops. The campus is surrounded by a wide range of amenities, including numerous cafés, shopping centers, cinema complexes, art galleries, libraries, a performing arts facility, and extensive leisure and sport facilities including the North Harbor Sports Stadium.

The North Shore city region covers 120km of coastline and includes more than 30 sandy swimming beaches. Part of the North Shore's appeal is that it is just a short drive from the city lights and downtown lifestyle of central Auckland, yet it has a real community feel and beachside character.

At the Albany campus, you can choose from 70 majors including a number of specialized programs in Mathematics and Information Sciences, Fundamental and Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Engineering, Jazz, Humanities and Social Sciences. Teaching is interactive, progressive, and research led, and we are known for our friendly atmosphere, all providing a great environment in which to study, achieve excellence and enjoy student life.

Auckland, New Zealand
Auckland is an international city with a population of over one million people. It is built around a stunning harbor with a bridge connecting the North Shore to the city center. It is New Zealand's largest urban area with a diverse multi-cultural population and world-class features and facilities. The Albany Campus is part of the North Shore and is usually just a 20 minute drive from the center of Auckland.

Academic Culture
Massey University is characterized by the practical and applied nature of many of its teaching programs and by its expertise in a wide range of fields. Massey has in excess of 5,000 papers (classes) throughout its five academic colleges: Business, Creative Arts, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Sciences.

The Albany campus has a tradition of excellence across a wide range of disciplines and is characterized by the applied nature of many of its teaching and research programs. Students will enroll directly and are able to register across several (but not all) disciplines. Given the high level of academics offered at the university and the varied academic programs, students have access to a wide array of options when choosing courses.

Students will typically enroll in four courses (called “papers” in New Zealand) at Massey University.  Each course worth 18 points in New Zealand will be the equivalent of 4 credit hours at Tulane.

Student Life
As a full-time student of the Massey University, Tulane students will find themselves engaged in university life right alongside local, degree-seeking students. This engagement includes access to the student union and all other university facilities, along with the academic resources of the university. In addition, IFSA-Butler organizes orientation programming and events throughout the semester to ensure that students are fully immersed in New Zealand life!

Housing
Students live in Albany Accommodation Village, located on campus. These five-bedroom apartments are self-catered, and each resident has a single bedroom. Students share bathrooms, a kitchen and common areas with local and international students. No meal plans are available.
